Pasadena: Gracefully Aging

Pasadena - Nice place to visit... And I WOULD wanna live there.
Between Old Town, and South Pasadena, you will be hard-pressed to find a city that is more "with-it" and cool, than Pasadena. The Rose Bowl and the parade... the clubs... the gorgeous craftsman houses...the mountains.. It is pricey in most areas, but there are pockets of great value... AND pockets I'd pass on...
Pasadena is older than many other valley communities, as settlers there found the setting against the San Gabriel Mountains far more useful and economical.
Now? Not so much. Homes and real estate there can not be had for much less than $800,000 unless you are in an absolute starter home.
But Pasadena is renovating in key areas: The Del Mar station has been converted from the old, historic Santa Fe train depot and is surrounded by many newly constructed apartments and condos.
